we just got back from cincinnati, ohio last night. my church went on a service/mission trip up there, and naturally, i have pictures to share :-)

it was like, an 8 hour drive and kyle and i slept a lot of it.

we goofed some too. that's a bubble on my tongue.

and i guess we got bored...

and boredom leads to only more goofing...

almost there!

and finally, we arrived in cincinnati. these pictures are of our view from on top of a huge hill where cincinnati christian university is at. that is where we stayed at for the week. gah, it was beautiful :-)

cincinnati christian university

the dorms weren't quite as pretty as the school...
this is a triple bunk bed in a room that is about 15'x 15'. meaning 3 girls are assigned to actually sleep in the room while attending school there. ridiculous. we slept on the floor.

and the boys' dorms...they were actually better than the girls', but they didn't have air conditioning so that was a definite draw back.

anyway, we were up there to sleep, worship, and eat, but our purpose of going to cincinnati was to help out a family in need. ms. pittman (aka Ma P) was an old lady with an old house. her son lives with her, but he is a 50 year old weirdo that just got out of drug rehab. he was pretty much useless around the house and she was getting rather old, so she needed help. she was a huge pack rat and had lots of things which required movement before painting, so it was quite a task she had upon her to get the house back to being liveable. she signed up for our group to come help install two ceilings and to paint all of the interior of her house. she picked the color, "mauve", and it would be the ceiling and wall color for every room. the trim was done in white. in the end, the house was beautiful. now all she needs to do is get rid of her squelching son, and she'll have life made in the shade. this is her house.

inside the house and work that we did on it...

some good workers...

officially the weirdest thing that ma p owned

her lovely son flavor flav, rolling a joint or something

a few random cincinnati things like big boy and skinny, tall houses, and proof that signs should be proofread or that are just. unusual.

so we worked at ma p's house tuesday, wednesday, and thursday. on friday we were given the gift of going to king's island. if you wonder what that is, just think that it is a totally awesome theme park that is bigger and better than six flags. it was so fun!!!
the first thing we saw when we went in the park

i wish i had taken more pictures of the park because it really was amazing. but we rode so many rides and just had a blast. i'm so glad i went on the trip and had all the experiences that i did while i was there. i strongly recommend trips like this because it will really change your perspective about working and being productive. you'll also learn to get over yourself and that doing something for another person, especially one that is in need, is far more rewarding than just pleasing yourself.
