I got home today and felt the need to be creative. So I put in Blackpool and went to work... ( see bracelets under the cut )

You've been busy. They're really lovely bracelets.

Why, thank you kindly! I can't wait until my new materials arrive so I can make more stuff. Idle hands and all. :P

I think you do a brilliant job of them. Are they difficult to do and do they take long to make?

They are not difficult at all to make, the tricky thing is learning the pattern. Depending on the pattern, they can take from 1 hour to a lot of hours to make (the 3 row bracelets were quick, about 45 minutes each).

To learn I highly recommend taking a class (mine is offered through a local community center), that way you have someone to answer questions and you will not be frustrated. There is also this book that I can recommend for learning patterns. Once you have a handle on the art that book is easy to navigate, but starting with a class is still ideal.

I, myself, find it very relaxing and zen so I can't recommend it enough as a hobby.

You wants?

You gots!

The two gold/silver pieces are gone but just choose which of the blue, black, or blue/black pieces you would like and I'll mail it your way! It's only right after all the wonderful music you've shared with me. :)

Very pretty. And the colored rings in with the other really make them look good. I got a B&N gift card for my birthday and am thinking of using it for that book.

Why, thank you! Those were a slightly different version of the king's mail pattern, I made the center row with colored rings to give it a bit of a spark. It's kinda fun when, once you got the pattern, you can make slight changes. I also had to do 2 to 1 rather than 4 to 2 because those rings were ordered with a slightly thicker than ideal for the pattern.

Yay for the book! I'm hoping to pick it up soon too, I'm cutting myself off for the rest of the month given all the recent on-a-whim purchases.

The three silver w/ black & blue were an easy pattern, and very fun. I am going to see if I can borrow Holly's tools to bring in May along with my stuff, see if you guys would be interested in making some stuff!

It will also help me get zen and prepare for going to Waverly.

Cool!

I have zen music and a statue of Buddha in the backyard. Will that help??

So it will be me, the chain mail, and Buddha outside in the backyard keeping warm from the freezing A/C inside. Yep, that will work for me!

The blue/black one it is then! Drop me your address by gmail if you don't mind, then I can send it off this weekend. :)

And I always wear browns and neutral tones, always get crap for not wearing 'youthful' colors. Blah! I like to blend, better camouflage. lol
