Yes, everywhere they go. Walking to class, on the tram, in the dorms... everyone's either carrying a baguette or eating a baguette filled with ham and cheese and vegetables. I was walking home one night and some guy started yelling, asking if I wanted a piece of his bread. He just said "Du pain?! Du pain?!" over and over while shaking his baguette at me. I said "Non, merci" and kept walking... I didn't know what else to do.

France is weird.

sounds like my kind of country... i like me some baguette! haha

but the no peanut butter thing is weird.. even though i don't have it all the time, i would still miss it if i didn't even have access too it. and don't even get me started on the iced coffee! haha, that is just too sad

but i guess its a New England thing. Canada doesn't even have iced coffee.. i guess i'll have to make my own when i'm there. and you'd think Tim Hortons would provide.. nope! the only cold coffee beverage they have is iced frappicino.

ps. you NEED to send me your address there!!! you can email it to me if you'd like, or just comment here.. either way!

luuuuuuuurve to you!

I'll email my address to you, absolutely! Canadian Tim Horton's doesn't have iced coffee? That makes no sense. We need to campaign for it or something, because not having it here is just not working for me. I miss you so much. You need to be in these classes with me!

Things are fine here. I'm working half days for my dad most of the time and half with Darren. We are making progress. January is really not a good time to start a business but we are more than breaking even on what we sell. I just hope we make enough to cover all our costs.

It sounds like you are beginning to adjust to things. I know you must miss Josh. I hope you guys at least get to email each other.

I don't think I would want to live somewhere that doesn't have peanut butter. LOL!!!!

I'm glad to hear that everyone is going pretty well on your end. Good luck with the business, I'm sure when the season turns things will start to pick up.

I miss Josh like crazy, but we e-mail every day, talk online (we both have webcams and Skype), and we talk on the phone about twice a week. He also sent a letter to me recently so I should be getting that soon. Considering the circumstances, we're keeping as closely in touch as possible. He and my mom talk a lot, too; they chat online almost every night when she gets home from work. It's tough but I can already tell we'll be so much closer when I come home.

Not having peanut butter is awful. I didn't think I'd miss it so much, but my second week here I had a dream where Josh and I were sitting in the middle of a floor somewhere, eating peanut butter out of a gallon barrel with spoons. That was enough to make me call my mom and ask for a care package, haha!

YAY Taryn! Things are looking up, it seems, huh? I'm glad! Thanks to you I'm now craving peanut butter on a baguette. I remember when I was in France they were always carrying them around. Maybe I'll try it here and see if it catches on...

That's awesome news about work. And I'm sure you're getting all veiny and disgusting with the weightlifting. :-P I'm curious as to how you'll look when I come back. My kitten will probably look like a mouse next to you.

I saw a zook bird on my way to class this morning and thought of you. It was warbling. I wanted to take a picture but I didn't have my camera with me. I think it's a resident zook, though; that's the third time I've seen it. I'll get it photo of it sometime. It's really neat-looking, and it makes cool sounds.
