Not too much going on around here lately. We've all been laying low in preparation for our little globe-trotting adventure in a few weeks. One of my courses here is an ancient literature class. We've been studying pieces spanning the 4th century to the 16th. It's interesting to study works that are so old. I've been writing every day lately. I'm glad that I have something here that I can put energy into and build. It's shaping up to be a good story and I'm really happy with it; I'm surprised at how good at feels to create something again.

I still miss everyone though. And I would give just about anything for a good cuddle right now.

Looking at graduate schools totally stresses me out. I'm thinking of not going for French, since the probability of my actually using French in a daily job is very slim. I'm looking into journalism/communications programs, since I've always liked to write and it would be interesting to write for a magazine or a paper. I registered for the GREs last ( Read more... )

Since arriving in France, I've learned that my food vocabulary is not at all extensive. Show me a menu from an upscale restaurant, and I will probably be able to readily recognize a third of what's listed. With the various sauces and different ways of preparing things (Bernaise?
