just so u kno straightedge is 3 X's not 4...XXX Smoking, HARMFUL Drugs including alcohol and promiscuous sex..you can still take RX or over the counter drugs and caffeine is not included w/straightedge..or at least thats how i see it..seeing as no one wrote a rule book so no one can definitively claim they are the "true edge"..drinking a pepsi isnt breaking edge..now THAT would really be takin yourself too seriously..which if im not mistaken is what people seem to hate about edgers..so dont encourage them to even more tight assed

but yeah, i think it's really...weird, i guess, that people call themselves "edge" but there are so so so sooo many people that don't drink, do drugs, etc. like mormons, par example.
All the people that don't drink, don't smoke are drug-free. You have to claim edge and mean it for life. When you are drug-free you don't have no self commitment like straight edgers do, That the differences. Also Hard-line has nothing to do with edge either. some hard-line people are edge, but not all hard-line are. Hard-line is more about being vegan, witch has nothing to do with being edge. I myself take edge to the extreme as you put it, but I've done it for myself and because I want to live a even healthier life. I follow the 3 ground rules, I don't drink or eat anything with caffeine, I don't take over the counter drugs, and I don't eat meat. I don't think I'm over everyone, but these worthless piece of shit, wast of human skin drunks, and druggies I know I'm above, cause I don't depended on alcohol or drugs to live my life! Also religion has nothing at all to do with being edge. I'm atheist/selfism

Those are the guidelines. Make up your own rules after that. Abstaining formc affeine and meat and whatever else are for hardliners.
