Who: Ken, Chichos
Where: Digitamamon's diner
When: August 7
What: Getting together, trading gifts, trying to figure out wtf is with these portal mishaps
Status: In progress
When Chichos and Gotsumon started out, her package in its woven plastic bag was still piping hot -- tamales wrapped in foil, churros bundled together in plastic bags, champurrado in its thermos, poblano salsa in a thick plastic water bottle she rescued from a tourist, breakfast tacos with nopales and eggs and shredded dry beef wrapped in gold-tinted foil, a chile relleno in a bit of tupperware and bedded in tomato rice, a bit of goat cheese wrapped in plastic to go with the black bean and chicken fideo soup in a tupperware bowl, and soft and thick flour tortillas to go with everything, separated by wax papers and rolled into foil. By now, she was sure that all but the champurrado had gone cold.
Really, it was supposed to be easy! It was supposed to be a short hop via specified portal. But then she arrived at a strange ship in the desert, then a mimicry of an Egyptian-style pyramid, then a jungle, until finally she found the portal closest to the diner. By the time they turned up in the area, Chichos was swearing under her breath and Gotsumon gave up trying to get her to calm down. The walk from portal to diner, thankfully, helped bleed off her annoyance enough for Gotsumon to declare her mostly presentable. Just before the door, she huffed, straightened her brightly-embroidered huipil dress, and stepped in with a smile on her face and made a bee-line straight for Ken.
"Sorry for making you wait," she bubbled in Spanish as she leaned over his seat to give him an awkward, one-armed hug. "We had some problems getting here."
