A Date with the Gold Guy

As mentioned on my facebook status, Miss B is having Night Terrors, so I am playing online between them.  I'm afraid each time that this one will be a return of the vomitting from this morning.  Better Night Terrors than puking, sez I.  That's seeing the glass half-full looking on the bright side, I guess.

I actually enjoyed Hugh's opening, but the musical-is-back number? Well... yes... Beyonce's "costume" was God-awful, and... well... I love a good musical, but I really don't think Mama Mia and High School Musical 3 are the long-awaited signs of the second coming of Gene Kelly... even with Repo! (which I loved) thrown in. It just seemed an odd, odd number.

The penta-fawn moments. Did. Not. Like. Yes, too long. No, they didn't strike me as sincere except in a few moments. These are all big boys and girls, and they don't need to be spoon fed praise to make up for the fact that they didn't win the award.

...and for God's sake, Mickey and Adrian wash your damn hair, and Jessica, lose the pull-tab gown... yeeeesh...

I enjoyed the opening number too. Hugh Jackman is the closest thing to a Desi Arnaz we've got these days! But I also wanted more comic bite to the procedings.

Never mind the pull-tab gown - I'm sure it came in handy if the restroom was out of paper towels - Did you see the unflattering skirt and black granny boots???
