So, it looks like Abortions will no longer receve any kind of medical coverage. According to the NPR, the new health care bill will require abortion coverage to be part of a seperate health care plan. To top it off, states can choose to outlaw plans that would offer coverage ( Read more... )

In some ways, this is a good thing.
The family unit has been broken for some time, and needs to be healed.

In other ways, it's compelte BS.

Yes, the persistent trend of people in this country to care more about parasites than they do about women is really disgusting to me. But I remain hopeful that pro-choice doctors and care facilities will find a way get around this type of legislation. If we can fix the system to the point where doctors and organizations earn a fair wage for other procedures, perhaps we can just start waiving fees for abortions altogether - or offer them at extremely cost-effective rates - no insurance required.

Sounds utopic, I realize, but I think there are still people who care enough about the lives of women to undertake such measures. We just have to protect them from being murdered by parasite-loving wingnuts. ;>
