I'm decidely NOT fine with things touching my eyes - can't even watch a mascara commercial when they go to close-up...but I survived lasik.

I took a valium, which didn't kick in until after because I was so worked up - and after all that it ended up being no big deal.

Good for you - it's one of the most awesome things you can do!

p.s. I could see clearly that day.

the making of the flap was the freakist thing I thought, but you really don't feel a thing after they clockwork orange open your eyes.

that's what i'm figuring. that whole "grey'd out vision" thing while they're cutting the flap really makes me nervous, but otherwise i'm sure it'll be fine.

Good luck with the surgery!!! Don't let them implant anything when you're there, thus turning you into some cyborg-like tool for the government! Seriously, though... "it will be almost entirely healed back over within five minutes after surgery"? That sounds... Well.. like some sort of lizard re-generating his tail stuff right there... THAT is freaky.

freaky, yes, and nothing i'd consider "comfortable", but at least i'm allowed back online today! yesterday i wasn't actually even supposed to look at anything.

oh, yeah, i could already see better when i left the doctor yesterday! today i'm seeing like i did with glasses, without them, which is freaky, but my eyes get tired really quickly. that's supposed to ease up in the next couple days though.

Dude, you've nothing to worry about. It's a piece of cake, and the effects are so worth it. Who's doing your procedure?

the pressure ring thing was horrible, but otherwise, yeah, so far so good! it was done by a dr. villazon. i've had better doctors as far as bedside manner goes, but he seems to have done it correctly, so i won't complain.
