For some reason, reading this really made me want to visit you guys. I guess so I can mooch some yummy stuff?

Actually, I think it's because your writing style in this post sounds like how you talk. :)

Thanks! I'll totally feed you yummy stuff the next time I see you... although logistically we should probably come visit you.

I do write like I talk, or at least, how I think. I rarely get to speak like this because I always get interrupted... boys.

Whoa--super cool!

I LOVE creme brulee, but I've never tried any kind other than vanilla and don't know if I'd want to. I guess the thinking is that it's so nice and simple and wonderful; why mess with a good thing?

And those photos are great--amazing how much a little photo or two can add to a blog post. Both the potatoes and meringue look Amazingyumyumyum

Thanks! I had fun with the meringue photos... I have some with all of them spread out over the cookie sheet too, but the repeating pattern wasn't as fun as the big bowl of them.

I think if you tried creme brulee in a flavor that you loved other things in, you'd probably see that while vanilla is awesome, other flavors can be good too. I particularly love eggnog and pumpkin spice, so those are winners for me :)

Having a torch (and not the British flashlight kind) in the kitchen completely appeals to my mad scientist side.
I now: 1) want a torch 2) have a craving for creme brulee 3) am hypothesizing the tastiness of different flavors- Mint. Amaretto. White chocolate...?

Also, my Hummel dessert stomach completely approves of using leftovers from creme brulee to make meringues. None of this omelette business.
