This journal is looking a little neglected.

So tonight I present the Maxx Movie Award for BEST Death Scenes.

Gore Warning.

3. In Third Place is Silent Hill, with that good ol' knife wielding, corpse draggin', door maiming, oversized helmet wearing hunk of spunk; Pyramid Head. It wins 3rd place for shock value, mixed with brief, strong gore. The scene is brutal, and violent. Enjoy!

2. In Second Place is 30 Days of Night. In a town covered in darkness and infested with vampires, every babysitters dream comes to life as the Town Sherrif's brother Jake must decapitate a little girl vampire. Freaky, with the shock factor of the death of a child but without being TOO graphic. Shame if you ask me. *laughs*

1. In First Place is Sweeney Todd. Todd is someone who knows how to hold a grudge, and when he finds out he killed his wife Lucy because Mrs. Lovett, the woman who loves him lied, telling him that she had killed herself, this lovely, sadistic chap goes completely apeshit! Then of course, after 86ing Mrs. Lovett, dear little little Toby, whom Mrs. Lovett had kindly taken under her wing, mirrored Sweeney's sadistic side and gave him a Colombian Neck-Tie. Well deserving of first place for three reasons, minus the throat slitting. The series of events leading up to this is wonderfully dramatic, and frightfully annoying to explain in a single sentence. Then of course there was the abundance of corpses in room, The Beadle Bamford, Judge Turpin, Lucy Barker, Mrs. Lovett (Well, her charred remains) and then of course Sweeney Todd. Not to mention all the Pies-To-Be! And lastly, the SINGING! How can you not love a death scene with SINGING in it?! That and it almost makes you cry! ;_;

So I hope you enjoyed this installment of Maxx's Movie Awards. ^_^

What about you guys? Do you have any favourite death scenes?
