When the door opens, it's not Becky on the other side. It's Yoko, looking rumpled and sleepy. She rubs her eyes a little before noticing that it's David. "Oh! Hello, David!"

She smiles a little before moving out of the doorway. "Y-you're here for the window, correct?"

Yep, she's been catching a quick nap on the couch. That much is evident by the squishy pillow and the blanket strewn on the couch.

"Yup."

David steps inside and leans the glass next to the busted window, then takes off his jacket. He's wearing his toolbelt, which, right now, contains a hammer, caulk gun, and all sorts of other tools you'd need to put in a window.

He sets to work.

Yoko perches on a couch arm and watches David work. She makes a sort of "hmm" noise every now and again. It's obvious that she's trying to figure out how this whole process works. Y'know, in case another window gets broken or something.

She's mostly quiet, apart from those interested noises. And then...

"David?"

It's pretty simple when you get right down to it. There's no arcane secret to construction work; it's mostly just the application of common sense. It helps that David's putting in a simple old-fashioned window frame, instead of some new fancy thing that involves springs.

He turns around when Yoko asks her question. "Hm?"

Renee is sitting on the chair, reading a magazine when he comes in.

She gives him a small smile.

"Hi David."

Great. Rebecca's not home, but her mother is.

David wonders if his horoscope for today involved the word "awkward."

"Renee," he says, politely. No sense in antagonizing somebody's mom.

She nods and looks back down.

"And how are you?"

Fuck. Small talk.

"Can't complain," he says, and begins unpacking the window glass.
