Dear Yuletide Letter
Dear Yuletide Writer,
First of all major apologizes for posting this so late and at this point this might not even be as helpful. But the most important part is that thank you! Thank you so much for writing for me, I'm so happy and thrilled and so looking forward to your story. Whatever you choose to wrote, I know it will be amazing and I honestly am happy that you took the time and energy to write something for me.
Hopefully my prompts/info on the actual AO3 form provided enough information or that my letter from last year was somewhat helpful. But if for some chance you do decide to look over here for last minute edit or such, here is my letter :)
Let me just preface this and say that at the end of the day, please write a story that makes you happy, because it'll make me happy. The following are just general ideas and outside of a few that are generally not my cup of tea, I'm very easy to please :)
General likes: banter, humor, world-building, magic, ladies being awesome, close women friendships, smart science, space!AUs, lots of UST, pining, loyalty/fidelity--characters who would do anything for each other, history, references to language/poetry/arts/literature (or just interesting language structure if that's something of interest), slice of life, characters dealing with societal repercussions, canon AUs where laws/societal structures are different, the use of time in interesting ways (ie, non-linear stories/comparing multi-verses/time-traveling/etc), soulbonds, first times, second chances, friends to lovers, mysteries, optimism (though when the situation calls for it bittersweet endings), journey/adventure, hurt/comfort, magical realism...
I would be equally happy with a gen fic as I would with a ship fic. If you do want to write porn, go for it! I'm sort of picky with kinks and for the most part generally veer on the tamer side. Also I tend to prefer to read about the emotional impact more so than the actual act itself. But if it strikes your fancy, I'm totally cool with that. Though no non-con please ( I'm okay with referring to when it comes to the character's past histories such as with Kate Bishop). Also infidelity is something I'd rather not read though if you do write about it in terms of dealing with Joseon era in SKKS, I would be willing to give it a pass.
General dislikes: The two main things I ask you to not write is explicit non-con and graphic child abuse.
Requests (as always I will be equally thrilled to receive a story in any of these fandoms :)
Fandom: Sungkyunkwan Scandal
I would love a fic focusing on Jae Shin and Yong Ha. Anything with those two interacting would make me happy. Either scenes from their past or potential scenes that might happen afterwards. Whether Yong Ha has always had feelings for Jae Shin. Dealing with "potential" attraction or just even their friendship. I would love to read Jae Shin slowly realizing his feelings for Yong Ha (even in a friendship context if you're more comfortable with that). There is so much territory to explore with these two. Whether it's on some adventure together or their times as students to when they were young. Gen or slash would all be great. (I didn't include Yoon Hee and Sun Joon for characters but please feel free to include them in the in the story as well)
The above pretty much sums of my feelings on SKKS (which while I do have issues with how the political/historical aspects were dealt with in terms of the ending) I really love Yong Ha and Jae Shin's friendship. I think I might've posted more of my feelings on my letter last year, but happy fic of any kind would be great :)
Fandom: The Eagle | The Eagle of the Ninth
I've seen both the movie and read the book so feel free to incorporate things from both or whichever one you feel the most comfortable with. I love Marcus/Esca, but I'm also happy with getting a gen piece focusing on their friendship. Slice of life, adventures post retrieving the golden eagle, possible working for the Romans on possible espionage missions (there must've been spies back then right?) Anything involving them really together and having to work together. I'm also a huge fan of pining and slow burn but again, I'm pretty open to anything really.
I love the tension in the film but I like the easier build of their friendship in the novel. This is one fandom where I love both post-canon fics as well as canon-AUs so have fun with this. What happens after the book/film ends? How could they have met differently? How would that affect their acceptance of one another? How do they navigate their initial relationship of master/servant and how does people reaction to their friendship affect them? There are so many possibilities and really it's whatever strikes your fancy.
Fandom: Hawkeye (comics)
Kate Bishop is one of my favorite characters in all of Marvel!verse so really any fic involving her will make me happy. I would love to see gen fic with her working on a solo mission much like the Hawkeye annual or just a slice of life fic. And having Lucky involved would be fun. I've read the earlier YA run and am reading the current YA run so any crossover with characters from either series would be great as well. Pairings are great too if that's something of interest.
I have very strong Kate feelings. She's one of my favorite YA along with America (and probably Kid Loki) and she makes Hawkeye both the comic and Clint Barton so much better. I would love to read adventures stories, about her everyday life, about her past---her hopes and fears. Maybe about a mission where she an particular Young Avenger or really any character from Marvelverse. Maybe about her superhero life clashing with her day to day life. Anything featuring Kate would be fabulous!
If you want to do a Lucky-centric fic---him and Kate on missions!-- instead that would equally be amazing (I loved the Pizza Dog issue :)
So in closing, I just want to reiterate that please feel free to ignore everything I said above if there's an idea you really want to write. Please feel free to do so, wherever your muse takes you as long as you have fun writing it. And thank you again so much!
