I don't know if it'd help you or not, but I found that when I keep away from excessive carbs, (especially sugar, which I have done rather horribly at avoiding this time of year), I'm more willing to go where life leads and my fears do not seem quite so overwhelming, dreams seem more obtainable. The fears don't disappear by any means. But they become managable. I can tell them to bugger off and they'll often do so. But any time I slip and get a lot of sugar, things plummet again.
Dunno if that'll help at all, but it's something to consider, eh? You're not alone in this, at least.
