So this is what I've been doing wrong all these years.

((Used to be a link. But the Onion article that it pointed to changed drastically))

It was intended to be funny, but I was also serious at the same time. Sort of..

I live a half-hour away from the university...

Well, if that's what I've been doing wrong, I should've looked into the nunnery after all...

Convent.

Funny, Matt corrected me on that a month or so ago (He's Catholic, I'm not. Now we find things reversed). I said "nunnery" in conversation; although the 'updated' term is floating around in my brain somewhere, I used the old one because I so seldom hear the institution discussed in modern terms..

I hate that there's something about me that seems to preclude girls seeing me in an attractive or romantic light. I ALWAYS get stuck in "that awful horse latitude of male-female relations [...] known to unhappy males the world over as 'the friend zone.'"

Convent. My aunt is finishing up her term as Mother Superior...

I am Catholic of course so I do know, but I was thinking of that famous line from Hamlet (get thee to a nunnery!).

I... am the one who gets people stuck in the friend zone. *sigh*

The only two relationships that I've had that were sexually satisfying followed conversations like the example in the article... they may not have ended up 100% satisfying that emotional need that I had but the sex was great... I disagree with the article. As always, "Different strokes for Different Folks"

The article is completely satirical, but the funny thing is that it's partly right - the 'friends first' thing does not work.

I completely disagree... the better friends you are first the better the relationship. Generally if a girl says she can't sleep with/date a guy because he's a "friend" it's because she wouldn't even if he weren't her "friend" there are always exceptions to the rule, but in general (at least from my experience) better friends = better lovers...

Sometimes you can totally screw up a friendship by hopping in bed, but I don't think you can screw up a relationship by becoming friends. Just my opinion
