+I scored the role of The Violated Saint in Amy Beth Kirsten's 2005 opera Ophelia Forever, to be performed with Harbor Opera in December.  I'm very happy about this.  Yay contemporary opera!

+I finally got the DVDs from Operaworks, and I figured out how to upload them, cut them into the sections I wanted, and even extract the audio from them to ( Read more... )

Operaworks is quite a bit of money. The four week program was something like $3,500 including the cost of housing. Plus the plane ticket cost me around $500. And they don't provide meals, and food is expensive in LA, even in the grocery stores. The two week program is not as much, obviously. And if you know someone in the Los Angeles area that would be willing to put you up while you're there, it would be worth it. You can also apply to scholarships through Operaworks, or you can apply for various grants or ask for funding from various sources to help you pay your way. Operaworks even provide you with a package specifically for that purpose once you're accepted ( ... )

I was actually coming from my family's house in NJ. It is super easy. It was tempting to go there (MSU) for grad school if only because I could have lived at home and saved a TON of money on tuition, but in the end, I'm glad I went with Peabody.

And thanks :) Hopefully I'll figure out this xspf player thing so you can hear some more soon!

I was able to convert my files to mp3s, but now I'm having a whole other problem. I screwed something up in my filezilla software, and now when I upload things to the server, they aren't being directed to the right place, or to anywhere as far as I know. So I've abandoned that project until I can figure out what the hell I did and how to fix it. I have a ton of updates I need to do on my website that I can't do right now, so its a little frustrating.

Yes there must be something wrong, I can't find your nude photos ANYWHERE! ;)

Is there an upload page with the site, or do you have to use the software? I think I have some FTP software that may work even on a mac.
