Sunday, April 1st: Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions Grand Fianls, in which two of my former classmates from undergrad are singing!  Unfortunately I won't be able to go, because I have rehearsal here at Peabody.  But I'm hoping to figure out the whole broadcast thing so I can at least listen.

I've been accepted to OPERAWORKS in Los Angeles, California, for July of 2007.  They auditioned hundreds of singers in every major U.S. city, and only chose about thirty, so, I'm honored.  This program is supposed to be pretty innovative, doing a lot of exploration of performance through improvisation and experimentation, so all that is definitely ( Read more... )

April 3rd, 2007 at Friedberg Concert Hall, Peabody Conservatory:  I will be singing the role of Sophie in a scene from Nicholas Maw's recent opera Sophie's Choice.  Annie Gill will be singing the role of Wanda.  Aside from this being a really cool work to sing, Nicholas Maw is on the Peabody composition faculty, so that makes it extra special.  It ( Read more... )
