I went to a jam session tonight. I'd been going since school started, but tonight was the first time I sat in. They tried to cut me by calling Donna Lee at about 280 bpm, but luckily for me, I've been practicing ALOT, and stayed afloat. I think I've been accepted by the good cats now. Last night I went to the FSU Wind Symphony concert, and it really reminded me of just how much I love GOOD wind music. So I just found out that the opera company at my school is producing "Don Giovanni" next semester. I really wish that my voice was sufficiently trained to get the part, because I've wanted to play the Commandante since I was a little kid, and rangewise its the perfect part for me. Unusually productive day, despite shakey beginnings. My first class starts at 11.05. I woke up at 11.10. Was in class by 11.13. Struggled to stay awake during said class, even though I really enjoy it alot. Back to my room, practiced for an hour and a half before setting off for piano lesson.
