Weekend so far has been somewhat the flail. The homework part anyway. It just like never ends. Party was fun though. A couple awkward parts, but its a DCP party... 'tis to be expected. Not at all looking forward to waking up to a day of insane studying for Japanese history midterm, and attempting to get all my other homework done as well. And ( Read more... )

One thing I find helps with not being invisible is putting your opinions out there a lot more. Speaking as someone who approached society with the "odd one out" standpoint, it may be difficult at first to find genuine things to say that other people latch onto and find merit in (mostly for amusement purposes), but it's worth it. Otherwise someone like me may always look like the nervous observer, not partaking in the banter and feeling left out. The reality is, though we are told to never compromise ourselves, the truth is that it happens every day without us even realizing it. And some ways of compromising ourselves actually make us better people, both in general and in our interactions with others. So, I guess, put yourself out there more. People will like you for it if you let them actually see who you are ( ... )
