Thank you! I'm glad you like him, because I have a feeling his behavior might be turning some readers away. But I didn't want to portray him as a noble sufferer, or as the same shy, unpretentious dear I wrote for FtTP; I don't think it would be realistic to the story. This William has been through a lot in the past year; he's sick and he's lonely, and it hasn't exactly brought out the best in his character. I do believe he's harboring a lot of good qualities beneath his bitterness, but it might take a while for him to reveal them all.

I love how honestly and realistically you depict William - he's a flawed man, not a saint.

Intriguing chapter, a prelude to a confrontation, I guess.

I love the way that you incorporate little details from the Victorian age. His attitude towards the servants really wouldn't be out of place back then. Another wonderful chappie! I can't wait to see what happens when Buffy gets there.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. I know William is being a little bit of a pompous jerk to his servants, but at the moment he really doesn't know any better. I'm sure Buffy will teach him, eventually. ;)

also now i'm worried williams going to become an opium addict.

It's a valid concern.
