I discovered it about two months ago. I started watching Doctor Who on Netflix instant watch in May. In June, I saw my first "Ten" episode. That was all it took. ;D
A comm devoted to his worship? Sounds like my kind of place!
Nice! He really grows on a viewer. I just finished watching his last season as Doctor, so I'm going to wait some time before I buy the next one, but I'm worried that it won't be easy to walk in his shoes.
I loved Chris Eccleston as the Ninth Doctor, and when he left I was afraid I wouldn't enjoy the show anymore. Then I watched the Children in Need Special, and I promptly fell in love with David. I think it was the way he raved about his "big hair" and the mole between his shoulder blades. Such a cutie.
I haven't started watching the Matt Smith episodes yet. I'm still grieving for Ten.
It was the same for me! : ) I loved Eccleston so much (my first Doctor ever), I had reservations about this scrawny one, and then...sigh. But now I feel like a total idiot. When does Children In Need happen? I'm buying whole seasons and once I bought doubles by mistake because it was a "special", but it turned out to be in the seasonal box as well, so I stopped looking for the specials--but I'm sure I don't have that one, and I think I'm missing something else too. And I did study the Dr Who "shop" on Amazon to achieve this disappointing result!
The Children in Need special ("Born Again") is set immediately after "The Parting of the Ways," and it aired between series one and two. If you have the DVDs, I think it's included on the special features. If not, you can watch it on youtube. (That's what I had to do because Netflix doesn't include the specials.) I'll embed the video below in case you want to watch it. It's only around seven minutes long, but it's awesome.
