Just watched the Neil Gaiman-penned, Dave McKean-designed-and-directed movie "MirrorMask," a fantasy that looks like McKean's paintings come to life. Neat film, decent fairy tale by Gaiman, and some fun stuff all around. I highly recommend it for those of you who like Gaiman's writings ( Read more... )

Thanks for the mini-review. Opinion: Suitable for a pre-teen that loves fantasy and is foaming at the mouth for Eragon to come out?

Absolutely, though that pre-teen might find it a little weird. I mean -- you know what Dave McKean's artwork looks like. Now make that live-action.

OK, that's cool. She's starting to get into the weird, a bit. I'll see if I can find it. But tonight we're going to watch Apollo 13. We were at the Henry Crown Space Center last weekend, and she was completely amazed by the lunar lander and command modules.

I'm not pre-teen and I found it a little weird.

Visually fascinating, though.
