Terracotta Chickens

Apr 27, 2006 18:06

I bought some more terracotta chickens today. Only two of them; they look nice with the one I bought the other day. I needed to cheer myself up after exchanging the shirt I bought yesterday. (I was in a hurry and picked up a shirt that was a size too big - it came down to my knees, which was a little odd.) The reason I was in a hurry yesterday was ( Read more... )

Oh dear. Well, at least if you lose your job it was a job you didn't like.

I've a feeling it's one of those jobs that one can't lose - it's a bit like stepping in chewing gum and then hoping it'll come off somehow. Anyway, it's not as though I steamed into his office uninvited and let him have it with both barrels; I was invited, and I didn't abuse any individual by name or implication.

Oh, it felt good. *serene smile*

Chickens are cute. A bit vague, and lousy conversationalists, but cute.

Ah well. They bought it on themselves by asking you what you had to say about the place. If I were you, Id just start looking around for another job - even if you havent talked yourself out of the job, still sounds like you're not happy there...so get out!

I have one application pending at the moment, and another one to write and submit by 7 May... Something's got to give.

Hi Ivan! anonymous April 28 2006, 19:11:28 UTC
I still miss your winnings...

Thanks to lil I´found you again... just wanted to tell you I put you on my friends list at "the other place". Felt uncomfortable when I did it, since I never have done that before without permission from the person concerned. Feel free to delete me...

Recognize the feeling of "talked myself out of a job"... I´m the office bitch (=babe in total control of herself) and I just don´t like the fact that (straight) testicles are mandatory for promotions where I work... so now I´m the lowest paid consultant... not more than the residents have...

Fortunately my youngest will graduate in less than two months from now...and then there´s nothing that binds me to this town...

Take care!

Hi dragonqueen. :)

I'm honoured to be on your friends list, and will add you to mine if ever I reinstate my name and start posting there again. I don't rule out returning, and focussing solely on friends' journals and 'private' threads... At the moment, though, it's better for my mood to stay away. There are too many irritants out here in RL without getting grumpy online as well.

Those work morale boosting things are always so torturous. I'm glad you got the chance to tell them what you think.

The terra cotta chickens sound gorgeous. Where did you put them? (Sorry if I missed that, I really am not skimming)

They're on top of the 5' bookcase, over there. *points* I think they look good next to the Moroccan vase and under the photo of Inca ruins with llamas in the foreground.

Sounds like everything would look awesome. *closes eyes and tries to see it* I love hearing about interior decor, I'm such a dork.

It feels good to get yourself a nice treat, especially after a particularly difficult, stressful or frustrating workday/week. Once in a while you have to remind yourself what you're working for... while your presence does benefit them, you're really in it for you.

That's something I need to remember more often. I should have been more vocal a while ago, but somehow I couldn't manage it.
