You know, some doctoral anthropology student could have a great dissertation topic. They could title it "Southern Gas Station Culture and It's Effects On The Community At Large"

That's the one thing I noticed when we moved down south for the first time: the gas station is the hub of a small community. It's weird. That and that they all smell like fried food. Ewww! :D

When Mr. Kitty was teaching me to shoot the Mossberg, we inadvertently fired three rounds in a row which (I was later informed) is considered a "distress" call. Our neighbor across the road showed up within minutes, an AR15 in his hands and a 9mm on his belt. Behind him was a buddy that was visiting, carrying a NATO assault rifle. They'd left the "big guns" back at his campsite.. I don't even want to know what that meant.

I will never, ever quite get over the culture shock of living here.
