My husband has a question for you. Have you ever tried ice wine? We've become quite fond of it ourselves, and knowing your fondness for wine, we were curious. :)

I will drink it, but only in very small quantities. It is far too sweet to drink too much of it.

Yep, totally understand this. I'm studying towards my very own chemistry PhD in Montreal, and it's the exact same deal. I don't want to leave, either. The US scares me. Europe might beckon.

Anyway, I hope you will be able to call your new settlement "home", one day. All the best, and be sure to check out amazing German bakery (called Guglhupf I think?) in Durham if you ever get a chance. Their bretzel is just... oh man. I'd drive back down just for that.
