ADV RIP

Well... the bootleggers and downloaders must be thrilled to death that they've put another company out of business.

I have nothing good to talk about right now. Just furious at too many things.

Now, I'm with you on the whole "don't download anime illegally" front, but it's not entirely the pirates' fault. ADV was licensing a lot of titles without regard to their perceived success in the States. For every hit there were several misses. Heck, I'm probably the only person in America that bought all of Papuwa - that flew like a rock over here (but I liked it).

Maybe (for example) if they got Clannad a little earlier so as to have enough time to dub it into English, it might have staved off ADV's demise. I'll never know. Still, as I've mentioned, today really is The Day The Eva Cried.

I agree with him, I buy ALOT of damn anime, and support my friends in the anime industy as much as I can. But until the past few years, anime prices kinda screwed its consumers to a point.

FLCL , I paid 35 bucks for 2 damn episodes at one point. I also find myself alot Happier with buying half seasons, or full seasons than by the volume. I think they should have switched to this concept alot sooner, like funimation, bandai and media blasters have.

Yes Pirates cause issues, but they arent compelty to blame. Just like brakujs said... getting shows that not a large group of buyers care about it abit risky.

I do hope for everyone that worked as VA for ADV find good work elsewhere, like Greg, and Josh as well as everyone else.

Cause frankly IM SICK and tired of hearing the same people in every funimation production lol.

Pirates bad... legal anime streams +, better pricing +, full episodes with commericals + *I LOVE HULU* ... season sets vs over priced volumes +
