So after two days of using the brute force method of removing vinyl tile and getting the blisters to prove it, I have found the easy way to remove vinyl flooring. A wet towel and a hot iron. Nifty trick. I shall have to remember that if my parents ever get around to replacing their vinyl flooring.

Okay, I'm clear about "step 1, pressurize water/vinegar mixture in a tank to 90,000 PSI" but I'm not sure what step 2 is.

Well, it works best if you can separate the wallpaper from its backing or at least score the wallpaper. Then you spray a water and vinegar mixture on the wall and it loosens up the glue so you can just scrape the wall paper right off with a putty knife. I've done it a couple of times and it works great. I've also read you can substitue fabric softener for the vinegar, but I don't have any of that around to experiment with.
