Start with Grandaddy's Sophtware Slump and you're halfway to a mix CD about robots, though it's somewhat cheating it's so easy.

And what Kara's Flowers song? And is it wrong I knew that without looking it up?

I agree, you could basically pick and choose from the Grandaddy catalog and come up with an entire cd, but that wouldn't leave a lot of variety. If you want the best (and i mean the BEST) Grandaddy robot song, dig around and find "Robot Escort," from Arm of Roger's "The Ham and its Lily."

the kara's flowers song is called "if you only knew." for white-bread, middle-of-the-road pop it's not half bad. and no, not wrong that you knew, just...embarassing? i'd expect someone such as you to know, really - impecable taste (save for your scathing "maladroit" review), deep musical knowledge. no surprise there.

Embarassing, yes. I only know because a friend of mine about a year ago asked me if I'd heard of Kara's Flowers and since I hadn't I had to look them up on allmusic.com and learned of their new moniker.

And my scathing Maladroit review might be a bit different if I wrote it now as that album has grown on me some, though I still don't think it comes close to any of their first three albums.
