18 weeks! + school update

Mar 02, 2010 15:12

Today I am 18 weeks pregnant. My abs aren't what they used to be and I definitely look pregnant already. The baby is head down and most active after dinner. We're going to find out the sex on Monday! I'm really excited to find out and hoping for a girl! I feel pretty good but sleep is uncomfortable. I can't sleep on my back anymore, and I have a ( Read more... )

this post has me more excited than you could possibly know. i just love how it's your third and so you're like '18 weeks, this is what it's like, and here's another story', when for me i'm still stuck at 'omg you're pregnant! you're having a BABY! you made one!' and i can't picture being pregnant for 9 months and that ever being normal, that ever sinking in.

anyway. so excited. <3

Ha, well, this is the easy part. Just go back and read my entries from November and December '05 and you'll see how whiny I get at the end. There are like 20 posts a month that are mostly "Ow. Waaah. Done with this."
Trust me, even with your first, it sinks in. But not as much as it does the second and third time. I'm trying to appreciate the last-ness of this pregnancy-- I'll never be <18 weeks pregnant again! I'll never squeeze a bump into my 27" jeans again after this week or the next. I'm already over my lifetime allotment of morning sickness. I'll never get a + test again. I'll never come up with another cute way to tell the kids or grandparents the good news. I'm happy to move on, but I want to appreciate it.

Also, fetuses are sort of abstract to me. They're real when they get here.

Does the baby stay in one position so early on? Mine squirms around a lot at 22 weeks and I was under the assumption that it's like doing flips in there or something on a regular basis, but I am so new at this :D

Also, Hi - I added you after I saw you on communities and you are friends with Marion.

Hi!
Most babies move a lot. They go head down, hopefully, by 34 weeks (but some not until labor!) It's actually really odd for a fetus to be head down this early, and to stay that way. I think my boys were head down around 28 weeks. We'll see if s/he's still head down on Monday at the U/S.
