Luka is eating spaghetti right now. He's twirling it on his fork and said, "I'm surrounding my fork so it can't get out!"
Also, we saw a blimp a couple days ago (for the second time in recent days) and Luka said, "Look, a limp! From the Limp-ics!"

I attended a birth this morning. The baby weighed 11#5!!!! The mama is over 6' tall but we weren't expecting that! We guessed baby at 9-10 lbs. at her prenatal a few days ago. We went to Kentucky. It was not warm, which was disappointing to say the least. It was so nice to see all my friends, though. It made me more homesick to be there than not being there. The impossible has happened. On Saturday morning, I offered Luka a party if he weaned. Which I offered Julian regularly from 2.5 or so, with no success. Julian last nursed about 3 weeks ago-- he's been nursing about once every 4-6 weeks since November. Luka said "Okay! I'm having a weaning party! With cake! I can't nurse." and that was it. One of my mamas had her baby early Thursday morning. I didn't get to sleep until 8am-- I need a coke habit or something. It was a good birth and she had a beautiful, tiny baby girl. I'm a certified neonatal resuscitation provider now (I saved a lot of mannequins lives today!) I can take blood pressure, use a fetoscope and a doppler. I'm becoming a very useful person. I have two births coming up! I love my job so much ( Read more... )
