Taken from Mel, who took it from Beau who swallowed the spider to swallow the fly....
1. What is your middle name? Joseph
2. What size is your bed? Kingsized I need to get a headboard for it. Beau saying the same thing reminded me.
3. What are you listening to right now? Miserablism by the pet shop boys
4. What are the last two digits of you phone number? if they were any of your damn business you'd already know, wouldn't you?
5. What's the last thing you ate? little peanut butter sandwitch cookies after lunch. Lunch was pretty good today. Eggs.
6. Last person you hugged? Sara
7. How is the weather right now? Couldn't tell you. I'm in the dungeon so I have no access to the outside world or natural light.
8. Who was the last person you talked to on the phone? I called Mel from work yesterday to tell her about the pain in the ass drama queen of a kid at Sara's bus stop. BTW hun, she invited Sara to her birthday party on the 12th.
9. The first thing you notice about the opposite sex? Coming or going?
10. Do you have a girlfriend/boyfriend? Yes. I have a wonderful girlfriend that I take out now and again. I don't believe that once you marry you should stop considering your partner a girlfriend. Makes it too easy to slip into the "old married folks" rut.
11. How long have you been with him/her? Mel and I have been married 5 years...together 8. Phew! Didn't have to remember that myself!
12. Do you have a crush? It's so much damn work. I'm glad to be done with it.
13. Ever get so drunk you don't remember the entire night? No, but I have been so juiced on caffine that my awareness was honed to a naked singularity. Does that count?
14. Hair colour? Blackish
15. Eye colour? bluish
16. Favourite colour? eh
17. Favourite holiday? Any present-buying day. I get to give stuff to my hun. After that it's Cinco De Mayo. It gives me another chance to froth wildly.
18. Favourite season? Fall
19. Ever cried for no reason? There's ALWAYS a reason.
20. Last movie you watched? Ester, the veggitales retelling of the story of Esther. Usually it makes me vomit, but Sara likes it so we watched it together last week.
21. How many mirrors do you have in your room? Whatever Mel said. I have no idea.
22. Do you know any other fall out boy songs other than "sugar we're going down"? Dance Dance is pretty cool. Neat video too.
23. Have you ever decapitated a barbie doll? O.K. Prepare to be weirded out: When I was a kid i used to steal my sister's barbies and play with them for a while, then take them out into the woods and hang them from a tree by their neck and melt their feet and hands with a lighter. After that, I would burry them neck deep in the streambed and leave them there for a few days before I disinterred them and returned them to my sister's collection. After the first few times I stopped melting their extremities because it was largely the irreprable damage that annoyed my sister. I also washed and brushed their hair before I returned them because being submerged in a stream and getting full of all sorts of organic junk made their hair a mess and she didn't care for that either.
Two things give me pause to wonder in this memory:
1) I wonder if all boys were similarly thourough in their feaux torture
2) I wonder if there's still one down there, hanging from the old tree or burried neck deep in the mud. I may go back some day just to see. Odd thing is, I'll be kind of disappointed if I make my way down there and there isn't, which leads me to further lines of thought best not shared.
24. Do you enjoy the sensational taste of Starbucks? Yeah. Starbucks is great precisely because it tastes nothing like coffee.
25. Does the word "horcrux" mean anything to you? I'm going to guess it's "The matter of lesser importance" Dictionary.com says... that it's not a word, but diddling with it for a while suggests a few meanings.
26. Do you have any friends of the gay preference? I have some sexy lesbian friends. I used to know a guy who described himself as "gay, but I'd really settle for anyone who'd have me" and I know some folks over the internet that may or may not be gay. Never asked.
27. Do you think Jesus is great? I'd have to go with that.
28. Is cheese like the best food ever, or what? Cheeze on a big slab of tender meat.....
29. What books are you reading? Lord Lyttleton on The Conversion of St. Paul and Gilbert West on The Resurrection of Christ. It's a little book I heard about that "provides reasonable proof that Christianity is correct" and since I'm reasonably convinced that said proof doesn't exist, but it supposedly goes about providing the proof in a remarably different manner than the standard Christian "proofs" that are abhorrations of logical thought, I thought I'd hunt down a copy and try it on for size. This particular edition cost a pretty penny as it's the 1929 edition and, unless all books from 77 years ago are of such quality, actually appears to be unique as the pages appear to have been reproduced mechanically from another work. Both the text's curling at the edges of the pages and the inconsistant page numbering indicate that these two essays were "photocopied" from earlier works and bound together as a single book. It DOES however have an accurate title page, from which I got the 1929 publishing date (by the American tract society) but the work has sufficient unprofessional qualities that I wouldn't doubt it was produced sigularly.
30. Piercings? no.
31. Favorite movie? Dunno. There are a few I like, but nothing so much as to make it my "favorite"
32. Favorite college football team? Couldn't name a one.
33. What were you doing before filling this in? Goofing off at work in a different fashion
34. Any pets? Snortimer is mine. The rest belong to Mel.
35. Cats or dogs? Niether. Animals aren't worth the effort. However, I dislike dogs LESS because they're not overtly malicious.
36. Favourite flower? That big one that smells like rotten meat and gets polinized by elephants.
37. Have you ever been caught doing something you weren't supposed to? Lots of times.
38. Have you ever loved someone? In past tense? nope. In present, yep.
39. Who would you like to see right now? Mel and Sara. I'd like to be home.
(Alas, poor 40, I knew him well.)
41. Have you ever fired a gun? I might have. I think I rmember my granfather showing me how to use one.
42. Do you like to travel by plane? Sure
(Alas, poor 43, I knew her well.)
44. What is your favourite Ramen flavour? I like them all. for 13 cents they're hard to beat.
45. How many pillows do you sleep with? usually just the one.
46. Are you missing someone? I always miss my wife and daughter when I'm at work.
47. Do you have a tattoo? Tatoos are pretty low class. Also they're a pretty foolish decision for the most part.
48. Do you still watch cartoons on Saturday morning? No, saturday mornings I skulk around Solid-snake style trying to avoid being detected by the animals or my daughter for as long as possible so i can have a little bit of peace.
49. Are you hiding something from someone? If I told you, that would be a clue, wouldn't it?
50. Do you play an instrument? At one time I played the piano, the baritone, and the oboe. Not any more. I don't have the love for music or the self-discipline to practice.
