I thought about doing 50bookchallenge this year, but the format felt like too much of a hassle. But then I found the equivalent LibraryThing group, and a forum thread seemed like a much more reasonable way to try to keep track. I don't know - I personally love 50bookchallenge. Everyone does it in their own way, which is perfectly fine with me. I get good responses, and a list of recomendations that stretches nearly to a page.

The way I do it is to put my reviews on the community, and put the list on my personal journal. I also bought a small journal that I write them down in, because there's just something immensely satisfying about putting down the books you read in a book, and having to turn pages to see the list of titles you've read. And I have a feeling it will outlast my time on LJ, as well.

Yeah, I get how it's not bad in and of itself. I just haven't been spending enough time on lj to fully participate in the communities I'm already a member of and like, you know? And I definitely do't have the energy to keep track of the same sorts of things in two places at once, and I really like what it's possible to do with a simple forum thread for that sort of thing.

I once tried to keep track of what I read in a journal -- however, I never could write things down in tie after I read things and then I started feeling guilty, so I just abandoned it.
