I seriously don't get what's up with all this talk about spring. Who cares about the seasons changing either way? It's not as if anything will actually change about this place or the fact that we're stuck here. The change of seasons is important to some, depending on their world's origins. Seeking familiarity with their home can be comforting or bring hope. Also, they might just simply be passing the time or having fun.

Perhaps you should share exactly what it is you find proper for this time of year, instead of just dissing what others believe.

There's nothing 'proper' for some time of the year! I'm just saying that the changing of the seasons doesn't mean anything. No way it's a big deal like everyone makes it out to be.
