This weekend was probably one of my favorite family events in recent history. Saturday's birthday party for Caroline (my 40 year old cousin) wasn't too exciting - just tons of people all happy to see each other but seemingly disinterested in each other at the same time... it's hard to explain what I mean. Way too many people grilled me about what I ( Read more... )

Sweeeeeet! I should try getting drunk one day... only problem with that is I drive alot... and I'd be like "No, I can't drive! DAMN YOU ALCHOLIC BEVERAGE!" and stuff.

For 2 people to be together for 21 years and NOT be married... IMO is a stronger love then those who are married sooner... because their is legal bullshit to keep em together, just love. So I think thats pretty awsome, at least IMO.

As for the people constantly asking you question... grab a stick... back flip onto the nearest table and with a crazy look in your eye, just say "Your not gonna ask me a bunch of questions are you!?". Then when you've stunned everyone with the dramatic monolog, you make a dash for the door and dissappear completely...

...

well... at the very least it'd be fun to do / watch, eh? Glad you had a good weekend! *(Package will be in the mail by Tuesday btw)*. Valeas!

I think you're right - it really does seem like an amazing love between Bob and Joe that kept them together for 21 years. I think it's a little too cynical (even for me) to think married people don't have such strong love - just legal shit... but I deffinitely see your point.

I guess the reason the whole wedding thing was so beautiful was that it wasn't so much the joining of two people - it was a celebration of 21 years of love too.

No, I don't doubt that married couples can't have that same love (my parents I guess would be a good example I guess), but I believe that being together for that long is an amazing test of that love. And I agree with you, it is more of a celebration for 21 years together, because they were always together, just without the legal papers.
