[ Hibari has been wandering the city for some time, trying to find out more about this place in general. If he is going to be supposedly 'trapped' in this place, he refuses to remain ignorant. There are rules here, set by people he doesn't know, people who have power.

The Inquisitor. The Ice Magister. The 'Lady'. There are more that he doesn't know the names of, but who apparently hold the same amount of authority. Over life, over death, over the entire city.

Rules... this city has its rules, and Hibari knows little if anything of them. It's not like the world he has come from, and the sheer strangeness makes him frown. He hates not knowing such vital information.

So it's pure good luck that he manages to stumble upon that injured figure just when his transmitter crackle to life. Hibari stops in his track, lifting it to his ear and listening to the faint voice, his eyes not leaving the figure in the distance ( ... )

[It's a little strange, one admits, to speak to a living person forthe first time in he couldn't remember how long. The people in Nifelheim didn't count. As physical as they were, it was like talking to ghosts and Caim viewed it only as talking to ghosts. Over the network, it was about as real as talking to illusions conjured up in your mind. But here, on this plane, with this man now crouching near him, he's a little bit apprehensive to say the least ( ... )

[ Hibari looks at this man, this so-called powerful Ice Magister, who is obviously beaten and weary and cautious. His position seems almost pathetic, slumped against the wall and bleeding his life out. For a moment, Hibari looks at him.

But there's no disdain in his gaze, only impassivity as he runs his eyes up and down the other man's body, taking note of and cataloging each injury in his mind. The injuries seem serious, some perhaps even fatal after some time.

Hibari hoods his eyes slightly, contemplative.

He isn't a man like Rokudo Mukuro, who thinks about nothing but his own benefit and play games with others for the sake of it. But he isn't a person who is altruistic or even kind. True, there is information that he has to retrieve, questions he wants answered, but he isn't going to withhold help just because of this. ]

Nothing. [ For now.

Standing up in one fluid motion, he steps forward until he is closer to the Ice Magister. He reaches out a hand. ]

You seem in need of assistance.

[Taking a deep breath, Caim exhales heavily when the other goes to stand, and he follows the other with his eyes, only turning away from Hibari's face to look at his hand when it's offered.

Assistance.

No.

He needs more than that. A grace. A second chance to restart. To change everything he thought he was doing right. To make everything he though didn't matter matter. But that's not possible. And quite honestly, although Caim isn't positive of this yet, he's not sure if assistance is, either. Something isn't right. She's injured him time and time before, worse than this, closer to death than this, and yet he's never felt the tug more violently nor more slowly than he does now. And something certainly isn't working, either, because he's not healing as fast as he should be and he can't remember the last time he bled this much.

-Wait, yes he can, and he doesn't want to think about that, because then the wall suddenly isn't such a safehaven anymore.]

I can't move.

[Caim knows he shouldn't say it and hint further just how hurt he ( ... )

[ It's obvious that the other man greatly needs the help. Hibari's lips press flat for a moment as he considers his options. There aren't many.

Scanning his surroundings again, he narrows his eyes at the buildings around him. He draws out his transmitter, registering that he is, for the moment, in a safe area. Then, he turns back to look at the Ice Magister again.

When he comes to a decision, it is obvious from the smoothing of his brow and the set of his shoulders. He moves immediately, walking forward and then dropping down again, making a grab for the magister's arm to swing it over his shoulders.

If the man can't move, then Hibari will help him move. ]

There are safer places than this wall. [ A simple, firm statement. ]

You need medical attention.

[If his expression was blank before, his new expression puts it to shame when the other grabs his arm. People physically touching him in any way is just something he never excepts. They never do, and in the rare times they try it's always violently physical, like that brat girl trying to continuously beat him in the head.

So he doesn't know what to do and thus does nothing, blank blank and still blank. He's puzzled to complete oblivion. The only thing that catches his attention is the comment about medical attention.]

...From who.

[ It was impossible for Ava not to know where Caim was. Whether it had something to do with the fact that neither of them were really complete without the other, or whether it had something to do with the fact that she just knew him better than anyone, it didn't really matter. She could have picked him out of a crowd of thousands, could have pulled him from anywhere in the entire universe, because they were connected.

She couldn't fight without him. He couldn't fight without her.

He was hurt. She could feel it deep in her gut, tugging at her insides, and she wasn't sure what had happened, what had occurred to make this happen, but that hardly mattered right then ( ... )

[ Hibari doesn't comment on the shift in expression. Impassivity is what he is used to, and besides, he is scanning the warehouses in front of him.

(At the back of his mind, he notes that the Ice Magister is rather heavy for a man who has lost who much blood, and that Hibari might have overextended himself, especially after the fight with Genkishi and the injuries he had incurred.

He ignores this. His body has always been an extension of his will.)

When the woman appears, his eyes simply slide over to her, no startlement in his movements. He is surprised by both her appearance and that she knows his name, but none of that shows in his expression, which remains as cold and blank as ever.

For a moment, her weapon fascinates him. It is something he has never seen before, a sword with a strange, nearly-fantastical design on both the hilt and the blade. But his gaze return back to hers soon enough, and he gives a short, curt nod of acknowledgement. ]

Magister. [ Because that is who she is, isn't it? One of them, in any case ( ... )
