[ He sees the blood immediately. The wound. The shallow breathing. Then- he's moving. Jason's 'superspeed' moniker is right, because Bruce moves so fast that he can barely be seen.
His fingers on Jason's throat. Pinning him against the sink. The other hand breathing lightly against his side. ]
I can open up the wound to take it out. [p Softly. ] I can do anything to you right now.
And no one will be able to help you because your only ally will be powerless to stop be. Helpless as a baby every single time he gets near you.
Re: action;under_thehoodSeptember 17 2011, 17:09:53 UTC
[It's been a while since he's been pinned against anything, even longer since he's been pinned by Bruce, but the hand at his side makes him kick out at Bruce, despite the words being said.]
He isn't much of an ally if he goes crying to you every time we argue.
[But it was far more than arguing, it's spiralling downward, further and further into a darkness he's not sure he'll escape.]
I don't need you and I don't need him.
[And he reaches for the knife in the sink behind him as the other goes for a grip on Bruce's wrist, the one at his side.]
[ He lets his wrist be grabbed, at the same time slamming his knee between Jason's leg, his other hand grabbing on of Jason's wrist, pinning him against the sink. ]
Don't you? The papers processing at the offices say otherwise.
[ Low, and soft. And for the first time, he is threatening him. ]
You cannot have it both ways, Jason. You cannot try to hold onto your so-called ability to kill, and the trust of those around you.
I was created [ this is Batman talking now, Bruce retreated right back until he's snarling ] to stop people like you.
Do you still think you're better than those you purported to want to put down? Do you still think you are better than the mad dogs you claim they are?
Re: action;under_thehoodSeptember 18 2011, 12:37:05 UTC
[Jason coughs and splutters for a couple seconds as he's pressed against the sink again.]
Is That why you think I filed them? [His fingers wrap around the hilt of the knife and he prepares himself for what might come next.]
If I'm no better, Bruce, then why aren't I in jail, huh?
[The teenager does his best to just smirk, to not show fear in the face of danger, but this is nothing he expected from Bruce, not in a million years.]
Re: action;under_thehoodSeptember 18 2011, 12:47:57 UTC
[For a second, Jason's smirk falters. Is that the only thing separating him from those dirtbags, in his father's find? Is he not worth any other consideration? Is--- not now Jason. His twisted smile regains its fotting.]
The answer is still no.
[And he's swinging the knife right for Bruce's hands.]
[ Bruce catches it, his glove tearing underneath the blade. His skin tears, causing him to bleed- but the knife is stopped before it can completely cut Bruce's fingers off.
Re: action;under_thehoodSeptember 18 2011, 13:42:33 UTC
[And with one of Bruce's hands off him, Jason tries to pull completely away from his father and get out of the grip, even if it means sacrificing the knife. He's not giving up the only thing he thinks he can control in the whole Port, having the kryptonite gives him power when he thinks he has no other. With the Batkids everywhere and feeling wholly separated from them, despite the adoption papers filed away, he feels like this is what he needs, more than a father, more than a mother, because those might not be there tomorrow (might not want him tomorrow) but the kryptonite, while he has it, is solid. He can hold it and it won't disappear through his fingers.]
[ And Bruce can tell. Jason is grappling so hard at control that he can almost see the boy's fingertips split before his very eyes, scraping and scraping against the brick walls of helplessness; against the concrete that boxes him in.
He can tell. ]
It's not going to do you much. [ Bruce stays near the sink, and doesn't take a step forward. ]
He's going to come to you still. Whether you have it all not.
You're going to throw away all that you've worked for so far here.
Re: action;under_thehoodSeptember 18 2011, 14:07:18 UTC
Then I'll throw it away! [Jason is almost shouting through grit teeth, his anger bursting through him like a sudden wildfire. The way he and Clark talk about his 'progress,' about 'everything he's worked for' like he's some project of theirs annoys him to no end, like if he does something out of line then he's a failure. He hates it and in times like these, the teenager almost wishes that he somehow couldn't remember them, couldn't remember Bruce or what his father means to him, that he had never met Clark. Then he could go back to holding all the control, rather than just a small, small piece of it, he could control who deserved life and who deserved death, be judge and jury.]
I don't care. [The wild emotions burning through him make his eyes water a little despite his efforts otherwise. ] It's too late.
[ He stays where he is, refusing to let Jason's anger spike a similar flaring up of rage inside himself. He presses his lips into a line for a long moment, then tips his head down, looks at Jason. ]
It's not too late. [ Breath. ] You have to realise that you have far more power without the kryptonite than with it. That you have far more as Jason that you ever have Red Hood.
Remember the first lesson I've ever taught you.
[ It's harder not to kill than to kill. That's true control - to hold back. To kill is a coward's way. ]
Re: action;under_thehoodSeptember 18 2011, 14:28:48 UTC
[Jason shakes his head, clenching his jaw as his lip trembles. He's trying desperately to keep his father out, to erase that part of his life entirely, but the words are echoing in his head, reverberating against those walls he's erected. But, for whatever reason, being called just Jason is almost worse. And he cocks his head a little to the side as his lip curls under.
He doesn't have a place. He doesn't have a role in the family. He's just Jason. Just Jason.
Desperate to keep those emotions bottled inside he shakes head furiously and refuses to wipe his eyes as a couple tears leak out.]
[ There's a sharp steadiness to his words, and he takes a step forward. He almost reaches out to wipe the tears away, but- he lets the hand drop away. ]
Re: action;under_thehoodSeptember 19 2011, 03:10:25 UTC
[When Bruce moves toward him, Jason takes a firm step back, wanting to make sure he's out of the reach, both physically and mentally. Don't let him in. He doesn't care, he never cared. Gritting his teeth tighter, the teenager tells himself that he's not a part of the family and that Bruce never wanted him as a part of the family. He's just a placeholder, something to waste time and space. ]
You left all the other times. Is blue kryptonite that much more important than having a decent conversation with me?
[His fury ratchets up a few more levels to an absolutely uncontrollable level, a storm of lightening and darkness and pain.] GET OUT.

That's not the reason I think. Don't twist my words to make yourself into a victim.

Do you really think that's it? This has nothing to do with the blue kryptonite anymore, Jason.
You should know what this is about.
