So 70,000+ people just died from being sucked out to sea in SE asia. The numbers seem to double every time I look at the paper, it could easily be well over 100,000 confirmed kills in the next day or so. It is inconcievable the magnitude of such loss of life, so I don't even bother. The thought of thousands of bodies just washing up on a beach ( Read more... )

Oh, what will the future bring. After tragedies of such massive scope it really should give us all perspective on the value of the minute things in our lives, but it never does. Oh well.

Jordan, thanks for the kudos in your update! I'll be in dc in probably under a week. I'll drop you a line when I get in. Andy, if you don't find a job you enjoy here in the next couple weeks maybe you should just move west. I think I might move out there regardless of whether I've confirmed a job. We could split an apt or something. Although I think nothing particularly good could come out of us living in the same apartment.
