Take another look; would you change your mind?

Do you honestly believe it is "better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all"?

I remember a conversation I had with Erin, a long, long time ago; I said "Obviously, the person who said that..never lost."
She replied with, "No...obviously they never loved."

In a way I agree, but in a way I don't...

To put it this way: I loved my best friend...I loved him so much, and I lost him. It changed my life...it showed me what true love really was and made me realize how great life can be if you have love. Losing him made me realize how shitty life is, but it made me a much stronger person. Even though there was MAJOR heartbreak while losing him, in the end...I think it turned out for the better. Without loving him, I think I would be the same person that I was.
