Unreal.

Really, that's the only word for it right now. I wished this would come, I hoped this would come, but I don't know that i ever really let myself believe it. With all that I poured my heart and soul into this campaign, a piece of me was still prepared to hear that it was all for nothing. It's too good to be true. But it is true ( Read more... )

This entry brought tears to my eyes. I felt exactly the same way that you describe - fearing that he wouldn't win, no matter how positive things looked. I too am proud to be an American today, and I am proud to call Obama "President elect." I just can't wait to drop the "elect." :P

I really like your entry and agree with most of it but I am going to have to respectfully disagree with you on the Hillary Clinton being a sore loser thing. Yes she absolutely fought to the end but once Obama received that nomination she traveled all over the country. She did a very good job of getting her supporters to shift to Obama and pretty much went wherever his aides told her too, she has been to a ton of events in support of him. She may have fought to the death but once it was officially over, she definitely did what was right for the party, Obama's candidacy and the country. One example is PA., Obama lost that in the primaries and without Hillary's effort there, he may have lost it again in the election.

(this is anonymous, so I am not even sure you (whoever wrote this) will actually see this comment....)

I agree that after the primaries were over she was a complete champ, she definately did a TON for Barack. Once she had lost, she turned it around. I was referring to the process of her losing. Which she dragged out for WEEKS. I'm not going to accuse her of tearing apart the dem. party, because she did a ton to bring them back together after some messy primaries, but there is no denying that she just wouldn't give up, long after it was clear she was losing.
