you will come down soon too, you will come down too soon

Every other page of The Walled Garden made want to furiously beat my head against the desk - I'm not even kidding or exaggerating in the slightest here. It really really did. I guess it was still good because after I finished it I sat for a while digesting it and thinking about it, but man oh man, I was rolling my eyes throughout most of the book ( Read more... )

Hi, well, I just wanted to say that I recently (well right now) just listened to "Jesus Christ" by Brand New ... wow ... it's like one of those songs I fell in love with, so beautiful. I haven't had any time to really delve into the music I used to be obsessed with.. it's sorta sad, all I really do now is listen to the radio (not saying that's bad) and have let go of all pretension really. But I dunno, this song really sparked something within me, it's so lovely :) I know you're a big fan of BN, just thought you should know & asking for other songs that you recommend to get me started? I think I'm craving new music. Bah, hope you are having a good time in university, I skimmed through some entries and it actually scares me that there is still so much damn work. For some reason, I keep having this glorified view of it - as if when I get out of high school, things will be fabulous and I don't even realize that the work will still be there. *sigh*

Anyway... take care. I'll probably see you at U of T for humanities :)

I definitely could see you liking their new album (The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me) - a lot of people have pretensions about the type of music that Brand New play, but if anything can turn those pretensions around, TDAGARIM can. People throw out Modest Mouse and Radiohead a lot when talking about influences or comparisons, but that's kind of harder to define or reach a universal agreement on. It's quite the piece of work, though ( ... )

Hey, late reply ... I applied to Innis College O__o Yeah, weird choice huh? No one ever says anything about it but I did a ton of research and since I'm living on residence, it is apparently the cheapest b/c a meal plan is not required. I have my own personal reasons for not wanting a meal plan anyway, so yeah. It gave me good vibes off the website and such, but I'm having doubts now.

Just wondering, if you do not live on residence, is campus life or in general meeting people a lot harder? The main thing that excites me is the possibility of starting over in a sense, that's why I'm taking this college choice thing pretty seriously. It's hard to distinguish which one is the best, really. How's Victoria? I know I shouldn't be thinking of this but lol, which college has the best parties? XD

Innis was actually my third choice, or something like that, but I was talking to a guy recently who isn't so fond of it. He's not on campus though, and he's just one person, so maybe you shouldn't pay too much attention to that ( ... )
