keep the focus off me and make it stay there

Listening to Kevin Devine's music on your own while sitting in your room with your headphones on or your speakers blaring is an entirely different experience from listening to Kevin Devine's music live as he stands on a stage in front of you holding his guitar.

I've always heard people say things like this about his performances, but you don't get ( Read more... )

This made my heart feel warm and fuzzy. Even after seeing Kevin an embarrassingly large number of times, I still feel the exact same things. The warmth, the intimacy, the happiness, and everything in between. And since I see him so much, I rarely write "reviews" because I fear sounding redundant and cliche. But I wouldn't see him so often if he and his music didn't mean the world to me.

And ugghhhh, I love when he does "Black Rain, Black Rain." AA Bondy is incredible.

I am glad you had such a wonderful time!

Yeah, I absolutely, completely and utterly understand your addiction to seeing him live at every opportunity now. And though I don't think what I wrote does the night justice at all, I'm glad you feel warm and fuzzy haha. That's how I felt after the show!

If given the opportunity to sort all my thoughts and feelings out into some comprehensible whole, I could probably write pages and pages about it. And his music. And him in general.

Kevin Devine sounds pretty cool from what I read on Wikipedia. Got an album to recommend?

I love the feeling you get after going to an amazing show.

It's hard to recommend one album from him over another because each album has its own charm and its own reason why it's good. That said, I'd probably recommend Split the Country, Split the Street for you to get you started, I guess.

I know, it's so sweet. And yeah, I finally understand the whole KD withdrawals thing. I figure it only gets worse the more you see him.

And no, I rarely keep any live recordings around, but try here, this guy pretty much collects them all.

OH haha. I dunno, I've never gotten into listening to recordings of shows - it feels so detached sometimes. Though, I love when KD does the live feeds of his shows - those are great.
