Yeah, its not being retarded, it's a "feature" that consumers didn't ask for and don't want in a media player. Though they do have a point - the first HD ripping utility used screenshots until the program (windvd?) was updated with new "features"
Supposedly if you turn off hardware acceleration in media player it'll work.

Couldn't you just print screen it? o.O then you'd have to use something like ms paint and cut/save it though.
