I woke up this morning with my window partway open because it was too hot last night, and I could hear birds singing and the air smelled really good. A little bit summery but not completely because it is overcast right now. It made me wish that I had a balcony over a somewhat busy street so that I could put something thick on and have breakfast out

well you know my new big window now and the little courtyard. that's pretty much what i pretend to try to do whenever i wake up or go to nap. i watch all the people going to and from their cars and see what they pull out of their trunks etc. since my room is on the really sunny side, usually it's very humid.
i was going to say you reminded me of our summer house in ukraine. it had this very musty feel to the bedroom, becuase there was no real light bulb and only one window and it didn't let in much light because it was completely covered by a grape wine. but you could look out and see the sky and our garden and lots of little flying animal life. there usually was a really nice breeze and i could run up to the window and reach out and grab a couple of unriped grapes. they're green and crunchy and a little sour, but taste so good.
