why has iTunes deleted my entire library?

its all saved on my computer else-where, or at least i think it is... it looks like it. i need to open each song individually to put everythng back. FOUR THOUSAND SONGS. jesus.

Yeah that happend to me when my compy crashed. It took a month to re-open everything.

That's sad...although not as sad as not being able to have a library at all. My dad makes me delete everything I put into the library (although I could just copy my entire iPod onto my compy...although I have no reason to 'cause I usually use my stereo to listen to music 'cause my speakers are crap)...so yeah, I don't really have one at all. It's tragic.
