I think it has something to do with the usual depressive mode I get into just after leaving somewhere really beautiful, be it the San Juans, Deception Pass, western Vancouver Island, the Olympics, or anywhere else really. This weekend was spent in Forks, Washington for an oceanography field trip... and

Forks, however, is fantastic. I have family there, so we've spent some time out in that neighborhood. If you ever wanna go out there again, the best way to go about it is to rent a cabin out at LaPush, and have ocean and forest...it's magnificent, especially when the whales are around

Hehe, well... compared to Seattle. It's just a different kind of nature, and you do have to be selective about where you go. My mood when I return will probably speak louder than my disillusioned impressions now!

Oooh, La Push! I'm actually thinking about taking a 9- or 10-day bike trip around the Peninsula as soon as finals are over. A victory lap for a year completed is really what I need. It helps to get out of Seattle anyway.

Cooper -- I haven't seen you like in forever. I'd like to meet up sometime soon -- specifically, I'm having a lot of summer visitors and I'd like to brainstorm some stuff to do -- like the places you speak of. It'll also be nice to catch up!
