[Image comes on to reveal someone only two people know by sight. Yellow eyes look out, no pupils visible and none seemingly needed. Crimson red hair falls in locks around muscular shoulders, and dear Lord, that woman is blue.I have previously been asking to be called "Red." However, upon discovering my son in this place as well, I have decided that

But she keeps that strictly out of her face and tone. She does smile, though, even if there's a bit of uncertainty in her face. wtf, blue.]
Most people here are pretty sociable. Finding allies, at least, isn't difficult.

[She shuts her mouth before she can continue on that sarcastic tone of it all, that everyone she knows ends up dead or dying or trying to kill her or...hell, people are totally useless. Friends? Ugh, she can't even...]
I was never very good at that, either, it seems.

This place isn't straight-up surviving as much as it is staying sane most of the time, but... still, people come together, backgrounds aside.

That sounds like my life, basically.

You said you're a mutant. I'm sorry, but I'm... not familiar with the term. Not in the way you're referring to, at least.

...Mankind evolved? There's a world where it actually happened?

Yes, there is. The first of us, that we have been able to track, came around the turn of the twentieth century, such as myself. There is another who is undoubtedly older than me, but his age is unknown. Yes, humankind has evolved.

This evolution -- it was natural?

[As natural as Mystique's form before her, in fact.]

That's... amazing, to say the least. Way ahead of anything where I'm from.

[Mystique is obviously extremely proud of what she is, and what has become of the new species on the planet.]
I'm sure it varies in every other world, same as everything else.

If your kind is... the next step, I guess, then does that mean you're advanced beyond average human traits? Physical abilities, limits; that kind of thing.

Yes, we have. "Superpowers" seems to be the way to put it. My son, for example, is capable of teleporting. Some have the ability to heal faster than they could possibly die from any amount of wounds. Some are capable of telekinesis, telepathy, creating fire, ice, whatever you could deem to be a form of "superpower." My good friend since the end of the Second Great War is capable of controlling metal. I, myself, am a shapeshifter primarily with minor other abilities.

That goes beyond simple "advancement," really... If you don't mind my asking, are all mutants easily identifiable at first glance?
[The curiosity's giving way, a little, to precaution: not against mutants themselves, but because Jill has a feeling -- no, she knows this is the kind of thing Wesker would pounce on if he were here. It's best to know however much more than him that she can manage. Just in case.]

[She raises an eyebrow, and a moment later, there's a redheaded, Caucasian woman sitting where the blue skin and yellow eyes had just been. Her voice also changes.]
For instance, with me, you would never know unless I chose to reveal it. My son, and many others, do not have this advantage.
