[The feed begins abruptly: the picture spins before the tablet clatters noisily to the ground, providing an awkward but clear view of a long, shadowed alley between two stores in the market. Against the lefthand wall is Jill, her back pinned against the brick; all but on top of her is a rail-thin black woman a good several inches taller, her strong ( Read more... )

Jill.

Are you injured?

[To her, simple bruises aren't really injuries, so she's pretty much being honest.]

No. I'm fine, thanks.

[GD tablets.] Has it been broadcasting long? [Kind of a pointless question, considering that all happened in only a few seconds.]

[And with a quick observational glance, she can see that it's the truth.]

Longer than anyone in your situation would like, but not the longest it could have been.

[She nods a little numbly in acknowledgement, and then exhales sharply.] This place is getting ridiculous.

So I have begun to see as of late.

[She tilts her head to the side. Are you okay, really?]

[She catches that.]

I'm all right. I just... wasn't expecting it. [In a manner of speaking.]

It seems this place has a way of throwing things at those here, expected or no.

[She slightly curious as to who the woman was, but she won't ask. It's not her place, even if she's curious.]

[Another lighter nod.] They -- he -- whoever -- wants a reaction. Normally, I'd think not giving them one would make them back the hell off, but I think they just try harder if we don't.

It seems the ghosts of many a person's past has come into the fray this time around. [As for Mystique? Who the hell does she feel guilty for? Well, no one. At least, no one that's remained dead, at any rate.] Ah, but did not Hecate speak that things were beyond her control now? I did not speak with her myself, though I did see what all she had to say.

So she said. But considering all the factors and complete lack of anything to work with... Hell, anything could be happening.

[Have a Kanye shrug.]

There is that, but were we to take her at face value, perhaps it's simply another of the Greek pantheon entering into the fray.

Possibly. I'm not big on Greek mythology, but the more gods that are involved, the more dangerous this all is. Especially if they each have their own agenda and we're caught in the middle.

Gods being involved in anything is really bad news all around. I know as much about it as to be expected, having lived as long as I have, though it was never a focal point of my life.

I believe it. I never had the courtesy of meeting one before here [just a narcissistic sociopath trying to be one], but they're living up to the stories of using people as pawns.

[Not the most optimistic topic, but it's something to think on besides her experience just now. She'll take it.] But they make mistakes just like us, evidently. That's something.

[She nods.]

I suppose they say they are not them, but perhaps are. Who knows anymore?

[She shakes her head slightly.] Riddles, riddles, and more riddles. I guess that alone should say they're genuine gods.
