[Gambit's done his share of information gathering, as he's want to do around here, and he knows that Laura's fond of Junpei, and he knows Junpei and the rest of SEES lives in this dormitory, for lack of a better word. If someone where to ask Remy what he did in his spare time, he'd say he's around. What he's normally doing is keeping an eye on people of interest.

Because the people in this dorm are of interest to Laura, they're of interest to Remy also. Not only that, but he's made a habit of making rounds across the rooftops to keep a bird's eye view of things. Because of that, He watched the kid, Shinjiro, come to the roof and set up his chair. He'd watched him for a while before he'd decided to actually say something to him. Something was bothering him, that was pretty obvious, but nothing was that serious.

Well, not many things, anyway. He made his way from the adjacent building nearly silently, but didn't do much to mask his approach as he came within speaking range.If yo' lookin' fo' some sunbathin', yo' goin' about it

[Shinjiro doesn't show any reaction to Gambit aside from a bit of annoyance on his once expressionless face. He doesn't move, continuing to look out over the residential area from his chair.]

What d'you want?

[He tilts his head to the side slightly.]

I gotta want somethin'?

What's so great about this roof? Plenty of others.

[playsforkeeps]

[He smiles, offering a non-committal shrug.] Maybe I like dis one. Got character, non?

[He responds with a slightly disgusted sigh. So much for privacy.]

[He pulls a pack of smokes from his coat pocket, pulling one for himself and lighting it, then offering the pack to Shinji.]

[Shinjiro takes the pack and slowly turns it in his hands, quietly debating on taking one.]

[playsforkeeps]

It ain't rocket science, mon ami. [He chuckles.] You need a light or what?

[hierophantmoon]

I ain't stupid. [But he does need a light. He slowly pulls a cigarette from the box and twirls it in between his fingers.]

[He slides the kid his lighter without further comment on the matter, and gives him time to light it.]

[You'd think he'd have done this before, the way he handles the lighter. But really, he's a great imitator.

He takes his first draw...and promptly starts coughing and wheezing.]

[Remy bursts out in laughter as he reaches over and pats Shinjiro on the back.]

You ever done dis before, homme?

[Shinjiro coughs a bit more before taking a swing at Remy. You'd think he'd hack up a lung at this rate.]

Ugh...nnghh...f-fuck you.

[He could have seen that swing coming a mile away. He dodges.] Yo' de one who smoked it, mon ami. Ain't no cause t' blame me fo' it.

[He runs the back of his sleeve over his wet eyes once he's stopped coughing. He never imagined it being that...intense. He frowns and settles back in his chair, eyeing the cigarette with his trademark frown.]

Probably shouldn't be doin' this shit anyway...
