[Ladies and gents it's your resident somehwat scruffy wizard. Good news is he's not looking at all battered. Bad news is he's looking dead serious.]

Sorry for being so quiet folks. I think we can all agree that this latest romp down here shook our houses more than we liked.

Now I've called for this before and I'm calling it again. If we want a better ( Read more... )

[And a smile for you, good sir.] It's been a while, Harry. Glad to see you're all right.

And you too, Jill.

How are you?

And How's Misaki?

We're getting by. Zombies weren't exactly a first for either of us.

How about you? Keeping busy?

Me neither, though mine were a little more terminator, a little less horde.

Helping Ellen fix up the Roadhouse and putting out this call. THat's about it.
You guys?

[She shakes her head briefly] It seems like everyone has their own breed of zombie back where they come from.

The usual. Looking after the delivery service, getting through what gets thrown at us. [And then she looks thoughtful] I'm up for what you're calling for; do you know Mal Reynolds? He and I have talked about something similar in the past.

Yeesh. Dare I ask?

How she sleeping? And you for that matter.

Yeah, I know him. I think he'll handle the guard and I can cover the safe houses maybe...

[She doesn't shrug, but the shadow of it's in her poise] We have what I thought were typical zombies back home, although they're far from common. I've heard of a few other kinds while here, so that came as a surprise.

[Another smile] She works hard, so it balances out at the end of the day. As long as she doesn't overdo it, anyway. I'm doing as good as I usually do. [Slight avoiding of the question on her end of that? Maybe a little.]

Good to hear. Even if we can't stop these things before they happen, being a little more prepared will go a long way.

Define typical. Like pop culture typical? Undead, shambling, moaning, wants to eat your brains?

[He nods.] Just make sure she gets enough and if she has any more nasty nightmares, she can let me know. I'll do another spell to give her a reprieve.

Same goes to you. [The wizard misses NOTHING!]

Exactly what I was thinking.

[She gives a crooked kind of smile] Basically. In hindsight, maybe I should appreciate my world's simplicity.

[And... then she blinks, attention obviously caught] You can do that?

That's it. All ways look on the bright side of ... whatever the hell you'd call this.

[His grin fades a little, Harry's expression turning serious.]

I'd be willing now and then to give you a break from the nightmares you're no doubt dealing with, but not all the time. Magic won't fix it. It's a reprieve, that's all.

Besides... If I can learn to face my nightmares, I have no doubt a bad ass woman like you can too.

[She hesitates, using the pause to switch the feed to private.

That last bit gets a small smile out of her, however distracted and brief.]

It's... not exactly new, honestly. Sometimes they're just worse than usual.

But if you ever have the time -- yeah, I'd... appreciate anything you could do.

I know the feeling, trust me. Lived with my own for years. They never really go away but they can get easier to deal with. I can help with that too.

I can drop by now if you need...

[She nods in agreement with that first part, then looks up again]

Oh -- no rush. I mean, I'm not busy, but if it'd be out of your way, don't feel obligated.
