[ It starts with static as grainy and peppered as anyone can imagine. But as it fades into darkness, the video starts to play. Of a much younger Tifa. Of a different person all together, it seems... ]

[ She says nothing. There's nothing she feels she could say. No one was supposed to know. She was never one to indulge in her past, for clear reasons only a handful of people knew. And most of them were back home and away from all this.
She's good at the composure thing, contrary to what everyone just saw. Hey, most would react that way too, watching a beloved and last remaining parent die in their arms like that. So when she lifts her head, Jill will see no tears still. And her fist clenched in resolve. Tifa's expression, though, is hauntingly blank if not controlled. ]

[And that's part of why Jill's been avoiding responding to most people in regards to this event, especially those she doesn't know all that well: sometimes letting them know you saw it does more damage than any words of comfort can undo.
Given that Jill's a master (hurrr) of composure herself, mostly, she notes all those little things in an instant.
But she just repeats, even gentler,] Hey. You okay?

[ There's a moment where she considers telling Jill the truth. They were perfect strangers and there were no obligations to each other that said she needed to divulge anything beyond what was on the surface.
But then... this wasn't Jill's burden to bear... ]
[Video | Private]lightning_fistsFebruary 18 2012, 02:04:53 UTC
[ Not that she doesn't want to, deep down inside. Tifa's just always been a very reserved and quite sort of person. Especially about her past. It was like what Cloud had said to her once. It was like moving backwards... ]
It's just... [ But it's painful enough, and it's certainly fresh enough, that she might let a little of that past slip out. ] ...He was all that I had left.

You need someone to come over or anything? ["Someone," not necessarily "me," because it gives Tifa the chance to say no without feeling like she's necessarily rejecting the offer -- and, alternately, for Jill to find someone Tifa's more comfortable with, if that's the case.]
[ Because she wants to say no. She'd rather not put that burden on anyone. She cares for people, not the other way around. That's just how it's been for a while now and Tifa's quite used to it. At the same time, she wants to say yes. Because there aren't many familiar faces here and of course she'd definitely need to talk to someone other than Cloud about this... right? ]
[Jill's response is quick, but her voice is low and gentle.] Tifa, it's over -- are you okay?

I'm sorry. This place likes to aim for what hurts the most.

I know. But it can help, sometimes.
[Not pushing. Just stating fact -- or experience, if you can pick up on it.]

It must have been hard. Maybe harder, having to see it again. I'm sorry.

[Yet another gentle nod.] I'll be here if you need me, Tifa.
